Quail Hollow neighbors,
Due to scheduling conflicts, the Spring Workday has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 10.
We start at 9 AM and go until we finish.
There’s lots to do and something for everyone from youngest to oldest. We need all the help we can get.
- Weeding in front of the clubhouse, at the entrance, and on the mound behind the pool
- Trim trees and shrubs
- Mulching and Preen
- Major tree and stump cleanup along the creek – guys, bring your chainsaws and ropes, and plan to get dirty
- Treat the entrance sign for carpenter bees
- Install landing at bottom of back steps
- And probably stuff I’m forgetting
Can’t work that day? No worries – go down any time the week before and do some weeding and trimming. Or bring drinks and snacks to the volunteers – it’s really appreciated.
In other news:
- The mowing contract has been let and will begin around the first of April.
- Work on repairing and painting the clubhouse exterior is underway and shouldn’t take too long if the weather cooperates. When this is finished, the clubhouse will have a new roof, new heat pump, new guttering, re-directed drainage, new insulation, mostly-new lighting, and new plumbing.
- Still to come – new flooring (probably deferred for a year or longer) and a new water heater (ditto). With that, the clubhouse will be in good shape for the next 20 years or so.
- We’re getting quotes on pool repairs. We have to do something about the crumbling concrete and missing tiles, but initial quotes are quite a bit higher than expected. Stay tuned.
- And the Board is considering what to do about the bridge to the tennis courts. Not sure yet, but due to the state of the foundations, it may have to be replaced. If not, major repairs will be required. Stay tuned.
We’ll see you on April 10!
Oh, a reminder. Dues are $780 per year, and may be paid annually ($780 due by Jan. 15), semi-annually ($390 due by Jan. 15 and July 15), quarterly ($195 due by Jan. 15, April 15, July 15 and Oct. 15), or monthly ($65 due by the 15th of each month). Overdue accounts are charged a penalty of 2% of the outstanding principal amount per month. The Board gives me no leeway on penalties, but it is willing to consider a waiver for good reason. An automatic draft on your account is a good idea – it removes the possibility of an oversight resulting in a penalty. Call me for the bank routing number and account number (I don’t publish that information).
